Graphics & Images

Graphics

Use graphics that are in line with the 3Play brand. 3Play images should be vector, icons, or illustrations. When possible, images and graphics should display all or some of 3Play's brand colors. Refrain from using stock images and choose images that are complementary to the content they represent.

Example of 3Play's home page with a prominent graphic using 3Play's brand colours.

Accessibility

Always include alt text for all 3Play images and graphics. Follow basic alt text guidelines for images and limit character count to 125 except in cases where the image requires a more detailed description, such as an infographic.

Alt text makes images accessible to those who rely on screen readers to view web content, such as people with vision impairments and other disabilities.

Text In Images

Be mindful of accessibility and limit the amount of embedded text in images. If there is text in an image, always provide descriptive textual alternatives. You should always include any embedded text in an image within the alt text of that said image when possible. If you can't edit the alt text of an image, you may also rewrite any embedded text in images in the content itself.

The embedded image text is also written in the adjacent paragraph.

Images with excessive embedded text may be inaccessible. For people who use screen readers or who rely on alt text to access visual information, embedded text is not useful, which is why alt text is critical.
